SAP cloud ERP

What it is

A marketing handle, not a product. SAP uses it for all of its cloud-based ERP products, services and programmes together. It replaced the older phrase "digital core", and SAP's own style keeps the word "cloud" in lower case.

Formerly known as: digital core.

Why it matters for executives

When a proposal says "SAP cloud ERP", ask which product and edition sit behind it. The handle covers both the public and the private edition of S/4HANA Cloud, and the decision between them is the one that matters.
