Hello SAP World
The public launch edition of sapperment. Future editions are delivered by email only to readers who subscribe and successfully confirm their address.
I'm Andreas, and I publish sapperment — an independent home for SAP expertise.
SAP transformation may be the best-documented, worst-explained subject in enterprise technology.
There is no shortage of roadmaps, product announcements and programme decks. There is a chronic shortage of honest analysis for the people who carry the decision, deliver the change and live with the outcome.
That is the gap sapperment exists to close.
We publish independent SAP intelligence: the why for the people who decide and the how for the people who deliver. No vendor quota deciding the advice. No transformation theatre. Fact, inference and opinion kept visibly apart.
Issue 0 is the shortest useful introduction to what we are building — and an invitation to decide whether it deserves your attention.
If it does, subscribe and confirm. If it does not, nothing follows.
The Signal: AI changes the value of SAP work
The usual question is the wrong one. It is not “Which SAP roles will AI replace?” It is “Which parts of SAP work will lose value — and which will gain it?”
AI is increasingly capable of bounded tasks with a clear definition of done: drafting configuration, proposing mappings, generating test cases and summarising documentation.
It is weaker where transformation becomes difficult: deciding what a process should be, challenging exceptions, reconciling competing business interests and owning the consequences of the decision. AI can produce confident output. It cannot carry executive accountability.
The first thing automated is therefore not the consultant. It is the keystroke.
Value moves toward judgment: process ownership, architecture, Clean Core discipline, trusted data, change leadership and the ability to turn strategy into an operating model. If your value is limited to configuring against a fixed specification, you are exposed. If you can decide, explain and own the outcome, the opportunity is growing.
From WHY to HOW
Most SAP failures do not begin in the software. They begin in the gap between a boardroom decision and operational reality.
sapperment is built across that gap on purpose:
- Executive Clarity is the why: decision-grade perspectives on SAP Cloud ERP, RISE, GROW, Clean Core, data and Business AI — for the people who sponsor the change and sign the business case.
- SAP TM Hub is the how: field-tested SAP Transportation Management practice, from freight order to freight settlement — founded and led by Deborah Born.
One platform examines both ends of the same decision: strategic intent and delivery reality. That should be normal. It rarely is.
Ideas lead. Experience substantiates them.
sapperment is organised by subject, not personality. The platform leads with the decision or problem; people appear where their experience earns the right to contribute.
The voice model is deliberately clear:
- Leading Top Voices take sustained responsibility for a domain and a named column. Participation is by invitation.
- Specialist Voices bring focused depth to a defined subject. Every proposal passes editorial review.
- Special Guests contribute a distinctive perspective to a specific question — from SAP disciplines to leadership, technology or business.
Every contribution is attributed, independently reviewed and accompanied by relevant disclosures.
What is already here
This is not a launch of future promises. The platform already contains four working areas:
- Executive Clarity — frameworks and perspectives for consequential SAP decisions.
- SAP TM Hub — practitioner guidance, topic clusters and field experience.
- Publication archive — articles and insights organised across authors and subjects.
- Talent Network — specialist roles, professional visibility and market intelligence for the SAP ecosystem.
The objective is simple: help readers move from fog to facts, and from intent to execution.
The Talent Signal: relevance beats volume
The SAP talent market is not short of profiles. It is short of verified relevance.
Employers need people who can connect process, architecture, data and change. Professionals need a clearer way to demonstrate what they can actually decide and deliver. Specialist recruiters need enough context to recognise that difference.
The sapperment Talent Network is being built around this shift: relevant roles, credible practitioners, honest market insight and clearly disclosed recruiter participation.
It is not a contact marketplace, and community data is not for sale. The aim is better signal between the people building SAP capability and the organisations that genuinely need it.
Who this is for
- executives deciding whether, when and how to transform;
- practitioners and consultants who prefer evidence over noise;
- SAP professionals and employers looking for credible specialist relevance;
- experts, recruiters and partners willing to contribute transparently and build what lasts.
You do not have to agree with every point of view. You should always be able to see the evidence, the reasoning and the disclosure behind it.
You decide what reaches your inbox.
Subscription takes two steps: choose your topics and enter your email — then open the confirmation email and confirm. Future editions follow only after that confirmation. Unsubscribe at any time.
We've sent a confirmation email (sender: news.sapperment.com) — click the link inside and the subscription starts. Nothing arrives without that click. Not there after a minute? Check your junk folder.
Independence and disclosure
sapperment is independent of any software vendor.
Sponsored content, when it appears, is clearly labelled and does not determine editorial conclusions. Author affiliations and relevant interests are disclosed with each contribution. Subscriber data is not sold. Individual email opens are not tracked by default.
Independent does not mean neutral about quality. It means the reader can see who is speaking, what the evidence supports and where judgment begins.
That is where better begins.
